About Class 1

Class 1 comprises of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

In Class 1, we enjoy a wide range of exciting and engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity, inspire inquisitive thinking, and nurture creativity. Through hands-on learning, we work both independently and collaboratively, exploring experimental, practical, and authentic activities that help us grow as confident, enthusiastic learners.

Our classroom is carefully designed to offer rich and purposeful learning opportunities. Children can access a variety of stimulating areas, including a construction zone filled with large building blocks, an inviting role‑play area, a creative zone, and dedicated literacy and numeracy spaces. Pupil voice is at the heart of our approach, guiding our planning and helping shape both the learning experiences and the learning environment.

We also make full use of our outdoor area and school gardens through continuous free‑flow provision, allowing children to develop skills and curiosity both indoors and outdoors. Our wonderful outdoor environment features a pond, a reading circle, and plenty of natural spaces and trees, giving us ample opportunities to explore wildlife and enjoy nature firsthand.

Our enabling adults foster a culture where learners feel secure, confident, and willing to take risks in their learning. They provide a nurturing, supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore, question, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
